Overview

MyMoney is a personal finance management application. Your privacy is fundamental to how it is designed and built. This policy describes what data is collected, how it is used, and what rights you have.

1. Data Collection

MyMoney does not collect any data from you.

All data you enter into the application — including account names, transaction records, budget information, people/contacts, and groups — is stored exclusively on your device using a local SQLite database. No data is transmitted to any external server, cloud service, or third party.

We do not collect:

  • Personal identifiable information (PII)
  • Financial data or transaction history
  • Device identifiers, IP addresses, or telemetry
  • Usage analytics or crash reports
  • Location data

2. Data Storage

All application data resides in the encrypted SQLite database stored locally on your device. The database is protected using SQLCipher encryption at rest (on supported platforms).

Backups you create manually via the "Export Backup" feature produce a JSON file that is saved to your device's file system. You are solely responsible for the security of exported backup files.

3. Contacts Access

MyMoney may request access to your device's contact list for the purpose of importing contact names and phone numbers as "People" entries in the app. This feature:

  • Runs only once at first launch (or when you explicitly trigger a sync)
  • Does not transmit your contacts anywhere
  • Does not store contacts beyond what you choose to add to the app

You may deny contact access — the app will function normally without it.

4. Notifications

MyMoney may send you local notifications to remind you of pending autopay entries. These notifications:

  • Are generated entirely on-device
  • Do not require an internet connection
  • Do not transmit any information

You can disable notifications at any time through your device's system settings.

5. Third-Party Services

MyMoney does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. No SDKs that collect or share your data are included.

6. Children's Privacy

MyMoney does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. As no data is collected from any user, the app is safe for users of all ages.

7. Data Deletion

To delete all data stored by MyMoney:

  1. Use the "Delete & Reset" option within the app (Settings → Reset Database), or
  2. Uninstall the application from your device.

Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this document will be revised. Continued use of the app after changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
